2 Large Stands, Aston Villa

Stands at Aston Villa

We built 2 large stands at Aston Villa. The first was the Doug Ellis Stand and the second was the Holte End Stand. The Holte End stand is the biggest end stand in Europe. Built using a King Truss it was one days work for two 500 tonne cranes and 8 REIDsteel erectors to lift and manoeuvre the truss into position, and bolt it to the end columns using 104 36mm diameter high tensile bolts.

A few weeks after the start of one of the most complex grandstands in the world designed and built by REIDsteel, nears completion.
